What Happened??

Have you ever had one of those split second moments where you looked at you child & said holy crap when did they get so big??  That was me the other day; I was going through some photos of the previous weekend & there he was looking like such a big boy & less like my baby boy!!  Did I cry......yes.  Did it break my heart a bit to actually realize that he is growing & just how fast........you bet.  But then I got excited by the thought of all the things to come & all of the future accomplishments that he will make & stages that he will go through; he will talk more, play more & differently, learn more & overall become a full fledged toddler before my very own eyes!!

I feel so blessed & thank Lance for making it possible for me be home with our little guy & watch him grow each & every day!!

25 Weeks - An Eggplant

Baby's now the size of an eggplant!

That oh-so-handy sense of equilibrium is kicking in, and baby's learning to distinguish right side up from upside down.  Head to heels, your baby now measures about 13 1/2 inches. His weight — a pound and a half — isn't much more than an average rutabaga, but he's beginning to exchange his long, lean look for some baby fat. As he does, his wrinkled skin will begin to smooth out and he'll start to look more and more like a newborn. He's also growing more hair — and if you could see it, you'd now be able to discern its color and texture.  Your baby's hands are fully developed; he even can make a fist & the nerve connections in his hands continues to develop.

Big Shoes to Fill........

B loves to put on shoes that are lying around the house & for this reason I make sure that I only leave my tennis shoes around so he doesn't end up in heels!!

It is funny to watch him walk around the house in his daddy's shoes when he is at work; he will walk around for what feels like hours wearing them saying "Dada" & each time he says it I tell him "Dada is at work"; he will stop for a second & then start calling him again.  It melts my heart & I love that he loves his wonderful Dada so much..........I guess that is why Dada was the first to hear "luv u" for the first time EVER this past Monday, huh??

He is talking up a storm & although we still can't understand a good bit of what he says when he decides to say something it is the best feeling in the world...........now how do I get him to say "luv u" to momma????

Colton's Nursery........

This past weekend we ordered Colton's furniture & cleaned out his nursery; since selling the old bedroom furniture that was in it it kind of became the catch all room.  We decided on a natural furniture for Colton & even though this picture has girlie bedding isn't it adorable??
We are doing a rustic cowboy theme in his room & because all of the colors are dark browns, reds & blues we liked the idea of lightening it up a bit via his furniture.  I am excited that we are finally getting started on his nursery & will post with more updates as we get more going..........

Cloth Diapering Advise.........

OK ladies I need some advise on this subject!!  I wanted to do it with B but just never got around to looking into everything so now that we are expecting again I am & will be using cloth diapers on Colton!!  I of course am going to do my own research but would love to hear what you use on your little ones; in my opinion another mother's advise is sometimes the best research.

24 Weeks & Still a Papaya

Baby's still the size of a Papaya!

Baby's skin is becoming more opaque as the fat starts to pack on. And, thanks to the formation of small capillaries, his newly thick skin is taking on a fresh pink glow.
Your baby's growing steadily, having gained about 4 ounces since last week. That puts him at just over a pound. Since he's almost a foot long (picture an ear of corn), he cuts a pretty lean figure at this point, but his body is filling out proportionally and he'll soon start to plump up. His brain is also growing quickly now, and his taste buds are continuing to develop. His lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" as well as cells that produce surfactant, a substance that will help his air sacs inflate once he hits the outside world. His skin is still thin and translucent, but that will start to change soon.

Decisions, Decisions..........

As we are putting together Colton's nursery (more to come on that soon) we are also in the midst of purchasing everything else again as well..........& when I say everything I mean everything!!  We were real smart & really thought that we were only going to have & want one child so we gave away everything as Brayden grew out of it & are now kicking ourselves in the behind for doing something so crazy.  At the time it seemed like the right thing to do since everything was given to family friends that really needed it & what did we need to hang onto for right???

ANYWAY; how crazy is it that everything has changed in only 18 months??  Everything we did have is completely gone & has been replaced with the new & improved with what seems to be a new & improved price as well.  It is very frustrating to have to repurchase everything but I am guess I am having a bit of fun too; I mean picking out swings & swaddles & bouncers & activity mats & all of the other things that we are going to need is pretty fun BUT which damn stroller do I use for 2 children????

This was the one we (I) almost 100% decided on since we did actually still have Brayden's Graco Car Seat:

Close

But then I found this one & it is compatible to the car seat that we have PLUS does so much more & even converts into a sit & stand for Brayden later on down the road...............

Double Stroller

I am really at a loss & would love any input that you mother's of 2 or more might have for me; do the sit & stand strollers really keep the kids safely in the stroller??

Snow Please Go Away..........

It was nice the first day & it was alright yesterday but today I might just lose my mind!!  B & I have been cooped up in the house for 3 days straight & although we have been outside a little bit each day it hasn't been enough so today I WANT OUT OF THIS HOUSE & it's not going to happen!!!!!

Here is how we spend the 1st snow day inside..........Lance (& the pups too) was so happy to be able to have a pallet since we haven't had one in such a long time!!

We brought the dogs beds downstairs to the living room so that they wouldn't lay all over us but Brayden decided that he wanted to take one of them over for snack time with dad.........

We took B outside for a second to see what he thought about it & he seemed excited!!

So we put on his hat & coat a little bit later & tested it again & he was ready!!!

We made him a make shift sled & away we went............he loved every minute of getting pulled around!!

It was then time to try walking on it & he did great; he held Lance's hand for a second & then he was off to play & explore.

Eventually the golf clubs came out for a few swings & then it was time to go in.

But not before Lance & Bella had some fun!!

We have had a blast seeing how B enjoys the snow but Georgia is not prepared for this type of weather & that just means that you shouldn't risk driving if you don't have too so this pregnant momma is on the verge of going stir crazy & is hoping that tomorrow is going to at least be above freezing so this will at least start to melt & start to get back to normal soon!!

23 Weeks & Counting...........

Still a Papaya.........

Baby's face is now fully formed; minus the baby fat of course.  Turn on the radio and sway to the music. With his sense of movement well developed by now, your baby can feel you dance. And now that he's more than 11 inches long and weighs just over a pound, you may be able to see him squirm underneath your clothes. Blood vessels in his lungs are developing to prepare for breathing, and the sounds that your baby's increasingly keen ears pick up are preparing him for entry into the outside world. Loud noises that become familiar now — such as your dog barking or the roar of the vacuum cleaner — probably won't faze him when she hears them outside the womb.

Where Are the Days Going???

Brayden had his 17 month birthday this past Monday & I swear it feels like we just had his 1 year birthday party the last week!!  He is of course growing like a weed & changing as each day passes; he is the sweetest, most loving, smiley little boy & continues to melt mine & his daddy's hearts on a daily basis!

He loves to spends the mornings in his PJ's & watch the Imagination Movers in the morning & after nap & they make him smile dance & laugh every time!!  As you can see he also likes to take his socks off......all day everyday.

He loves to sit at his new learning table & color (without eating the crayons now), look at books & "count his cookies".

He is obsessed with TV remotes, cell phones, computer key boards & anything else electronic he can get his hands on!

He still loves to ride his horsey............

Eating on his own is coming along & he always starts out using his spoon but he always ends up shoveling his food into his mouth with his hands............I guess it is still quicker & more effective for him!

He has become a little cuddle bug; he has always loved on his toys but he is now more loving with us too........he gives the best hugs ever!!!!

He was napping & sleeping like a champ but lately it seems that he only naps like a champ.  He has been getting a ton of teeth in & has been in quite a bit of pain & discomfort not to mention he had a cold so he & we got used to having to go into his room a few times at night & now we have to go back to getting used to NOT doing that............

He loves to help mommy with everything...........even laundry; he is quite a good button pusher.

He is very curious about everything & like to get into everything too...............

which means he is very busy & is keeping me very busy & I guess that is not all bad since it is keeping me up, active, moving & mobile while growing his little brother!!

He is quite the dare devil & adventurer; I am just waiting for the day he falls & really gets hurt.

He is perfection in a child & he is such a blessing!!

He has found his independence & of course has his moments but he makes being a SAHM so much fun & makes my day every single day.  I love you baby boy & always will; you are & always will be mommy's sunshine.
