Weekend Review...........Long & Packed Full of Photos!

We had quite a long, busy & fun weekend with Brayden even though he still isn't quite 100%.  Wednesday I stayed home with him & then Thursday Lance stayed home with him since we were both off on Friday!

Thursday was a long day for Lance since he really hasn't ever kept Brayden because he was sick; I think that they still had a great day together I just think that there was a lot of happy to sad quick changes from Brayden.  Like this.........

Poor Brayden just wasn't himself that day & so by the time I got home from work Thursday evening Lance was worn out & Brayden was ready for bed.  He hadn't had a fever all day which was great & was our biggest concern since it was 103 the past day & a half.  Brayden woke up Friday morning & was 90% & I couldn't have been happier!  We spent the morning with him playing & laughing & then when he went down for his morning nap Lance & I both got ready to run our errands.  We kept waiting for B to wake up but he slept for 2 hours; he never takes that long of a morning nap but we were happy he got some god rest!!

We took him into school & I have to say he seemed really happy to be there after playing hookie for 2 days!  I had a hair appointment & Lance went with me to get a haircut too, then we ran around taking care of a few more things & then we were back to pick B up & we were home bound to get ready for company later that night!  We had a few our our newly engaged friends over for a little poker; it brought back so many memories to here them talk about wedding plans not to mention baby plans!  They are not only getting married but they are expecting too; they are going to be he 1st set of our close friends to have a baby & Lance & I are so excited for them as well as us.  It is so hard when none of our friends have kids & don't seem to understand we just can't always go out!

Saturday we just hung around the house & Lance got so much done around the house while B & I played; he even managed to get the baby gates up on the stairs.  We had been trying to get them up for some time now but none of the ones that we bought were working so he had to figure out a "creative" way to make our stairs safe & he did a great job!  Then we decided that after B's nap we would do his pool in the back yard for the 1st time.........he was so cute in his little swim outfit, huh???

Oh yeah, Saturday morning B tried eggs for the 1st time & I think that he is allergic; he had a rash on his back & chest a few hours after but it didn't really bother him & went away completely later that afternoon.

 Saturday night we just ordered Chinese & relaxed at home since we had family birthday lunch on Sunday for Glenn, Jason, Travis & Caleb.  I got up with Brayden Sunday morning we we ate breakfast while we let Lance sleep in a bit!  Brayden & I played & crawled & walked around the house until he passed out; I love when he gets sleepy & starts laying his head down on my lap!!

We got ready B woke up & we were off to JuJu & PaPa's house to visit before we were off to the restaurant to eat. Here's B in his big boy car seat.......he loves it!

We played around & then went to eat & then we were back & the house for cake & ice cream.........

Then it was home to rest & bed............Lance had to get a good nights sleep since he was starting a new job Monday (yesterday) & I had work (BOO)!

Weekend Review & Lance's 1st Father's Day

We had such a great weekend & Father's Day yesterday!!  

Friday night was an early to bed night for me; for some reason I was exhausted! 

Saturday Brayden & I spend the whole day together (just he & I) & it was perfect.  We ran errands Saturday morning to get ready for our dinner guests that night as well as getting the last few odds & ends that we needed for Lance's 1st Father's Day plus I was trying to keep Brayden up & active so I can see how he does with only 1 long afternoon nap instead of a small morning & then a kind of long afternoon.  I think he did really well & am going to have to talk with his school about trying to slowly get rid of his AM nap all together.  While he napped I managed to get some stuff done around the house, bake a lasagna for a guy a work & prep the chicken for dinner that night; I made Chicken Kiev & I will have to admit it was pretty GREAT!!

Then came Sunday; Lance's 1st Father's Day with B..........the day was wonderful!!  Brayden sat in his highchair & played perfectly helped while I made Lance's favorite breakfast for him; scrambled eggs with cheese, biscuits, sausage gravy, & bacon; we don't have it that often since we are both trying to watch what we eat!  Lance really loved his breakfast in bed & after breakfast he opened his presents; Brayden made him a Shutterfly photo book (you can go here to check it out) & he also got him the "reasons I love dad stones". Lance loved both gifts but I think his favorite gift might have been this.........

They made it at school & not only is it the sweetest thing ever.......we were both in shock that they got such great foot prints since he curls his toes ALL THE TIME; anyway & the morning was perfect & I couldn't have ever asked for a better father for our son!!  After all the excitement Brayden wen down for a power nap & Lance I got ready since his parents were coming over to visit.  Brayden's JuJu & PaPa came over about 10 & we got to hang out & B got to show them how he likes to walk..............that's right, he is walking!!  He looks like a drunk sailor but he is getting better & better each day HOWEVER it is a very hard thing to catch with the camera & I haven't had time to download off of the camcorder yet!!  I have said it before & will say it yet again; he is changing & growing so fast & it is making his momma happy but sad too.

We just hung out for a while & then after B had lunch & went down for his afternoon nap Lance, his mom & I ran out for a few things while PaPa watched the monitor.  Later in the afternoon Lance's brother & his 2 kids come over so we could all head out to dinner.  Have you ever looked around after making a big deal out of something you child has done & everyone is staring??  That happened at the restaurant (Shogun)& honestly I couldn't have cared less; we were all clapping & cheer with Brayden through out the whole meal! 

Before we left the house we noticed Brayden really had a thing for his cousin Morgan & was pulling at his shirt to take it off & when we took it off he would grunt & tense his arms..........it was almost like he was flexing & it was too cute!!

We had such a good day with family I just wish I could have had my dad & family with us here with us too!!

Weekend Review.......

OK so let me start by saying I REGRET saying that Brayden is sleeping through the night because of course he didn't last night.........I am not sure what was going on but he was up a AWAKE at 1:30am.  He finally went back to sleep after crying & playing in his crib but it was a long few hours for Lance & I!!

We had a wonderful weekend & really didn't do much of anything at all which was nice!  Friday night Lance & I just relaxed at home after B was down for the night.  Before B went down I did manage to get his new bedding on & am now on the search for matching curtain panels!!  I wasn't feeling up to much else though since I felt a cold coming on.  This is the set we picked out for our little boy!!

Saturday I was supposed to help my girlfriend with her wedding invites but didn't want her to catch whatever it is I have going on so we rescheduled & I just spent the day with B, his JuJu & PaPa & then later that night when Lance got home with Taco Bell (always makes me feel better when I am sick) & I was asleep not to long after I ate.

Then I woke up on Sunday with no voice & really don't know what happened; I have no fever & really don't feel too bad but I sound horrible.  I was walking around singing "Smelly Cat" in my head all day because I felt like I sounded like Phoebe did when she got sick on Friend's!!  We had family photos with Lance's Dad's side of the family & here are a few.........

I guess the photos turned out alright; I love the ones of Brayden but I am just not liking the ones with me in them at all........as usual!  After pictures we all went to dinner & Brayden actually at a kids spaghetti from the restaurant.  I didn't bring dinner for him because it wasn't going to be time for him to eat but he was HUNGRY & he had eaten pasta that we had made at home so we tried it there & he LOVED it!!  It is nice to know that he can eat something off a menu when we are out & about now.

I am tired today after B not sleeping & still have my raspy voice & throat thingy going on & would love to go home but can't so I am praying this day flies by & I am heading to pick up B in no time at all!!

Weekend Review........

My weekend actually started on Friday so I had 4 nice long days away & they were wonderful & crazy!!  I have to start by saying B cut 3.....that's right 3 top teeth last week so when they ALL finally broke through we all got some much needed sleep Thursday night!!

Friday

Took B to school for a few hours (6:30am - 10:30am) so that I could give the house a much needed cleaning & Lance could get some of the new window treatments hung; this house is bigger than our last & I needed a few more hours but we left picked up B & went to lunch with JuJu & PaPa anyway.  It is crazy that they say how much he has changed each time they see him; I know that I am with him everyday & see changes so I can't imagine what they see each time they look at him.  After lunch Lance, B & I ran some errands & then were were home for the night!

Saturday

Lance had to work (booooo) so my girlfriend came over in the afternoon so that we could work on her wedding invites; I can't wait for her wedding on September 10th.  Their wedding date is their 5 year anniversary & I think that is the neatest thing!!  That night we had our friends Megs & Justin over for dinner & I don't want to toot my own horn but I made the best salmon I have ever made in my life & it was a very simple recipe.

4 tablespoons butter

1/2 cup dark brown sugar

1/3 cup bourbon

4 6oz. salmon fillets

melt the butter & add the brown sugar; bring to a simmer boil

add the salmon fillets skin up & cook for 5 minutes

flip salmon fillets

add the bourbon AROUND the salmon & cook until the salmon is flaky

We served it with salad, steamed broccoli, & twice baked potatoes & it was DELICIOUS!!!

Sunday

JuJu watched Brayden while we attempted the lake again but again we had boat issues; this time though we decided to have someone on the lake look at the boat & after $100 an hour they found nothing wrong so our boat that has an engine on it that has less than 10.5 hours on it has to be brought back to where we purchased it & they will fix it our replace it for sure!!!! We made the best of the day & actually even had a good time where we were while the guy was working on the boat!!

Monday

I have spend the day with Brayden while Lance worked & I had a wonderful time being home with him....just the 2 of us but he had on heck of a rough day!  I can't believe it but I think the is getting another tooth in so he was in a good mood all day just kind of fussy here & there.  He wanted me to hold him but then he would push away from me, he wanted to crawl but then he would put his head down on the carpet, he loves to crawl on the hardwoods but today his hand slipped out from under him & he hit his little chubby cheek on the floor & lost it; he wanted to eat but would fuss the whole time............it was so sad that my little man had a bad day but I enjoyed all the love I got from him & got to give him!!!!  B & I actually haven't had a day to ourselves in quite a while & it was really nice to just devote all my time & energy to my little man........I am really going to hate going back to work tomorrow!!

Weekend Review......

We had such a great weekend but I am beat!!  Saturday I spent the whole day out with B & his JuJu buying window treatments for all the rooms & doors in the house that still needed them & let me just say that my little man did great!!  He was a trooper all day & was in the best mood which was a good thing because were we out shopping from 9:30-3:30; we did stop for lunch in there & HOLY COW the new dish at Olive Garden is AMAZING!!  We got home rested a bit & then PaPa came over & JuJu & I ran out to one more place while B & PaPa spent some quality time together!  JuJu stayed the night so that we could get up to the boat early Sunday morning............

"They" (whom ever they are) say that the 2 happiest days of being boat owner are the day you buy it & the day you sell it & after Sunday "they" might be right!!  It never fails that the first day on the lake everything goes wrong & this Sunday was no different.

Lance wanted to go up Saturday night & bring the boat to the house so that we could clean it & check it out there but I didn't want it sitting in the street all night so I convinced him that we would just go up really early & get everything done........he was worried about the battery but I told him "we have the jump box baby we will be fine".  Well we got the boat cleaned, we checked & made sure that there was power by turning on the radio & there was we then backed her up into the water & NOTHING the battery was so dead hat the jump box wouldn't even get it to turn over so we Lance & Marcus had to pull the boat the rest of the way off the trailer & pull it with a rope over to the dock so that Lance could then run to the damn store to get another battery........he did that got back & we were off & trying to shake off the bad vibe of the morning!

The guys did that by drinking a beer & us girls had a mimosa.........you might be thinking it is pretty early for drinking but things are different on the lake I promise you :)  We went over near a cove....."Cocktail Cove" & just floated, relaxed & hung out while we waited for some more friends to get there & when they finally did we went to start the boat to go meet them & nothing happened.  The boat was trying to start but it just wouldn't; we knew it wasn't the battery so what could it be this time you might ask????  It was the gas that we left sitting in the boat all winter; it had gone bad (which I didn't really know could even happen!!)

We finally get the boat to start & we sputter our way over to a gas dock to fill it up & pray that they have a much needed gas additive so that we can get this issue resolved but they only had gas no additive but the guy at the dock told us to just drive around for a while to get it filtered out & we should be fine so we go over to where our friends are (still sputtering the whole way) & just decide to turn it off & try to enjoy the beautiful day & we just prayed that she would start again when we needed her too.

Like I said we prayed that the boat would start & it finally did...... but getting it back onto the trailer was kind of a struggle.  We got it done though & over all I would say the day was laughable but how can I really complain about being in the sun, on the water, & with good friends???  I am happy that B wasn't there to see the debacle that day but Lance is going to get the boat fixed this week & ready for his boating debut next Sunday or Monday!!
