Carrie's 30th Birthday Hartwell Hoedown

A few weeks back I took & whole Saturday, Saturday night & Sunday morning away from the boys to head up to Lake Hartwell for a good friends 30th birthday party.  It was hard being away from the boys that long but it was good for me to get away too.  Lance had to work Saturday during the day so he came up later in the evening!

The house that we rented was so pretty & tucked back where there were trees & shade but also a sunny dock to chill out on too.

  

All the girls pitched in & got Carrie special presents for turning 30 & of course she had to have a corn decorated cake thanks to Sarah!

She turned thirty..........I wish that was how old I was going to be the September!!

Her hubby cooked a few wienies for lunch............

& then it was time to get some sun.  It was so hot & the water in our cove was so murky; not to mention the fish in the water nibbled on you if you got in.

As the day went on Yager Bombs were had...............

Flip cup & beer pong were played...........

& then it was time to indulge in some of the best food I have ever had.  Charlie smoked brisket & pork all day so that we could eat like kings & queens (can I just point out that his wife is the one who made the cake & he is an amazing chef; some couples just have ot all!!).  The birthday girl is giving her thank you hug to the chef.

We all had such a good time & I have to admit it was nice to get away but I also have to confess I couldn't sleep because I missed the boys so much.

It was a great & fun weekend with a wonderful group of friends!!

Daddy & His Boys

A few weeks ago Lance made a job change so that he could be here with the boys & I one more day a week.  He has gone from working WAY to many hours & only being off on Wednesdays to being of on Wednesdays & Sunday & that is HUGE for our family.  Lance & I have both been stressed & of course that means fighting & bickering over stupid non important things & we both just wanted what was best for each other & mainly for the boys.  Lance took a few days off before starting his new job & the boys couldn't have been more excited about it.  They really didn't know what to do & were excited each & every day that they woke up & he was there & got to stay there to wrestle.........

& even take them to the park & feed the fish in the "wa-wa"

The new schedule is A-MAZING & we are so happy that we get daddy home with us more often!!!!

It is HOT, HOT, HOT Outside!!

So we are staying cool by playing the the water each & everyday.  The last few days have been so hot though (102-108) that we have been waiting until around 6 to even step foot outside.  Maybe I am getting old but it's hard to be outside when it's that warm; the boys will be red faced & sweaty & as long as they have their juice they want to be outside 24/7!!

We had a Slip N Slide last year & B loved it & since Colton is able to play on it now too it is twice the laughs for us.  They don't slide really they just walk on it & fall.

B needed a water break............ 

B liked his John Deere Gator last year but LOVES it this year; he thinks it's the neatest thing to drive "baby" around in it. 

Colton wants to do whatever & go where ever B is; but B has different ideas about that.  

  

We are enjoying the summer & doing everything we can to stay busy & cool.  I hate to think how hot this summer is really going to be since it really just started a few weeks ago!!

Our Future Soccer Star

Brayden has been in speech & OT therapy for a while now & one of the other moms suggested that we sign him up in a sport to help him learn to listen to other adults as well as to play with kids that he doesn't know better.  Being that at the time he was only 2.5 we did have many options but we did find Lil'Kickers & he is in heaven every Saturday since he started!!  Lil'Kickers in a indoor facility so we don't have to worry about the heat & also groups the kids by age so the class that he just finished & is starting today are both classes with a parent which is fun for Lance & I too.

He is not on a team or playing actual games of course but he is learning the fundamentals of the game while working on his motor skills, coordination & social skill which are all important for B's progression.  He has his moments where he just will fall to the floor & not want to do something but the coaches are great with the kids & encourage them to get up & at least try!!

And here is the other benefit for him "playing" a sport...............he's exhausted when we get home!!!  That make this momma VERY HAPPY!!

She's Crafty........Well I'm Working on It Anyway!!

I have decided that since I have an amazing craft room (thank you boobala) that I am going to start using it to create all presents & cards here in the future.  I know that with 2 little ones running around that I might miss an occasion here & there but for the most part I would like to create & make sweet & also one of a kind presents for our family from the the boys.  I know that a store bought gift can be a great gift but when you make something special for someone & put some thought into what exactly that person might like then I think it makes that gift & occasion every better!  

I have a Cricut & am just getting into all the things that it can can create & if you have one you know that you can never know all that it does the it seems endless.  I have made a few things for myself for holidays & also made this for our niece's room for her birthday.......... 

& then made frames for the boys Grams & JuJu for mother's day.  I still have to learn a good bit but I like the way they turned out!!

I then got adventurous & made a frame/block set for the boys PaPa & Puddy for Father's Day.  I really loved the way these turned out & think that both Puddy & PaPa likes them too.  I really like the fact that they can change the blocks to show 6 different photos & thought the frame with the poem just made it even more special. 

I started a book for Lance & the boys for his Father's Day gift but have yet to take photos of it at this point nor it is up to date; I am still working on it but an anxious to show it to you all............I'm pretty proud of it.  I enjoy doing all of this so much & it is kind of like therapy for me since it is a time for just me, my thoughts & my glue, mod podge, photos & ideas.............
