15 Month Old Colt

I don't know where the time is going but this little guy is getting so big so fast; he is growing up faster than B did that's for sure!!  He celebrated his 15 month milestone August 3rd (B's birthday) & I think that he thinks he is the one that turned 3.  He is defiantly getting to big for his britches!!  He is mister independent & wants to do everything on his own...........until he does, gets hurt & then wants mommy.  He is a momma's boy for sure; he used to be a daddy's boy but I secretly whispered in his ear that I was cooler & he finally listened.

He is in 18 month clothes but is pushing the limits on those, he is in size 4-5 shoes, he has a million teeth coming in (which are making him VERY moody), he sleeps like a champ most nights & eats like a pig!!  The kids sees food & wants it; his belly literally sticks out by the end of the day from eating; it is the cutest thing.  He is in the 98% for height & his weight & head are both average; I said this with Brayden too but his daddy is very happy that they have my height & has both of their football futures with UGA planned out.

Colt is into EVERYTHING.  We have moved the trash can into the pantry & have to make sure that door stays closed or else he'll get into it & pull out food to eat all day.  He gets into the stuff under the sink in the bathroom (which is just shampoo, towels, & TP) so that door stays shut & so does the spare bedroom door down stairs since he likes to grab the candles off of the night stand.  No is a word he says & he knows the meaning of but he does not listen too AT ALL.  He is very strong willed & wants what he wants & if he doesn't get what he wants he is already doing the "throw myself on the floor" temper tantrums.  I am afraid for our lives as he gets older!!

He is very attached to his little Mickey Mouse & blankie & likes to have them in his little chair downstairs.  He loves to be outside & loves to wear his crocs; he will grab them & hand them to me right when we walk into the garage & sit right down so I can quickly put them on.  His new drink love is a juice box & want to drink them all the time but he squeezes them of course so he can't hold them just yet.  He is jabbering up a storm & had a great vocabulary in the works but his favorite word is "baby".  That is what B calls him so he points at things that he wants & says "baby"; he says it for anything & everything & it is the CUTEST thing in the world to me.

Colton you are a little stinker but you are our little stinker & we love you more than you can ever know.  Watching you grow, progress, & change is amazing & even though we'd like for you to also be the baby you are now our little big toddler & you are amazing!  You are pure joy & laughter, your smile lights up a room & fills your momma's heart with love.  You are perfect & we love you always!!

Brayden's 3rd Birthday Party

So this big guy turned 3 on August 3 & then we had a big ol' pirate party for him that Sunday.  It was a blast for all of us I think & this years party came together a lot easier than his 1st & even Colton's 1st!!  I think the easy party was because we decided to order pizza instead if cooking out or making anything at the house plus the water slide was a hit & all the kids were consumed with it the whole afternoon.

I made a few signs to put out in the yard, around the house & on the candy/cake table in the house.  We made a plank for the kids to walk & also had a little buried treasure dig for them.

The cake turned out better than I could have ever imagined & it defiantly made the table look AMAZING!! I stuck with the pirate theme for the snacks & candy & had things like Whoppers for cannon balls, popcorn for pirates teeth & gold fish for the "catch o' the day.  It was pretty cute if I do say so myself.  I made the pirate ships below for the kids to carry their snacks around in.

Thank you bags were quick & easy this year as well; just a few stamps & some brown paper bags & voila.  Thank you bags that all the kids stuffed full of yummy goodness as they left; plus there were some other Jake & the Neverland pirate stuff in there too.  It was very hard to find Jake stuff so the party had a few things here & there but really turned into plain o'l pirate party.............but B didn't seem to mind one bit!

We had a kiddy pool set up for the smaller kids to play in & the pirate swords were a big hit too.

B never actually climbed up the stairs to slide down the water slide but he had a good time playing in that thing for 3 hours straight!!

It was such a great day & one of our friends little girls kept saying that she was coming back to Brayden's house for sure!!  That makes a whole party worth it doesn't it?  The smiles & laughter of all the kids while they run around like chickens with their head cut off!!

How am I going top this one next year???  I have no idea but it is a good thing that they only have 1 birthday a year; we were all so tired after this one!!

Demi Moore uses the It Works! facial wraps; want to try one??

14 Months Old

I missed his 13 month update (I know I suck) but am going to try to do better at Colt's monthly updates since I NEVER missed one of B's.

Colton is a literal mess.  He is all over the place & into everything all of the time.  He loves to open & close drawers & happens to get his fingers caught in said drawers at least once a day.  When he gets hurt he milks it for all it is worth.  His fake crying is pretty good for a 14 month old (B taught him everything he knows).

He watches B like a hawk........still...........& is picking up & learning everything bad that B does.  He loves his big bro so much & just wants to be like him I guess.  They already fight with each other over toys, books, mommy; you know everything & they even smack each other which we are working on stopping ASAP.

I think that Colt is in the process of getting every tooth in his mouth cut but is handling it pretty well.  He is grumpy but not as grumpy & fussy as I would expect him to be.  He tries so hard to be in such a good mood but with all the drool coming out of his mouth I think sometimes it's hard!!

He loves when I sing to him & really loves when someone reads to him.  He will clap his little heart happy when ever he hears "if your happy & you know it".  My song with both boys is "you are my sunshine" & when I sing it both boys will come sit right next to me & cuddle in...........my heart melts every time!!

Colt has a size 4 foot already & is in 18 month clothing & is just a big boy.  Lance says he's going to be our linebacker & B our quarterback (a father's football fantasy I guess!!).  He goes in for his 15 month check up next month so we'll see what his weigh is then but I think he's around 26 pounds; whatever he is, he is HEAVY!!  He was sleeping in until around 7-7:30 before the teeth issues began so now it's restless nights & early mornings.

The boy eats just about anything & wants to eat anytime someone walks into the kitchen; it is crazy but he will bang on the fridge & pantry doors if you walk in there & don't give him something!  He is the child who is going to eat us out of house & home!!  He is talking up a storm too.  He says nana (banana), dada, no-no, down, yes, ju (juice), has only said momma clearly once but it was so sweet sounding, ma (more), papa (once), ba-ba (bye-bye), hi (he waves too) & there are more but I can't remember what right now (I need to write them down & keep better track).   He sleeps with his Mickey Mouse & blankie & likes to carry them around just like his big bro.

He loves to be outside & LOVES to play in the water.  His little cheeks turn so red but he just runs around like a little terror.  He is so funny to watch because he thinks he can run really fast & he just giggles & laughs while he plays.  He (& his brother) are absolute perfection; don't get me wrong my kids do not act perfect (by any means).  They fight, throw fits, cry, yell, scream, hit, make messes, get into EVERYTHING all the time.........you name it & they do it BUT they are my kids & even though they do wrong they are PERFECT!!  They have so much love to give & share & their cuddles are AMAZING!!  They are going up faster than I would like but it is fun to watch them do it!!

Ask me how you can get results like these!!

The Place to Be.

We went on a play date & found a new park that the boys LOVE.  It is set up better than the one by our house because it is made for both B & Colt but not too big.  The one by our house had parts that B would get daring & venture towards but would then get scared because they were that big.

He is a little dare devil most of the time but I guess even he gets a bit frightened sometimes.

Colton always plays for a bit but then has to jump in his stroller for a pick me up snack.

This is Livi; she is a tad bit older than Colt & they are cute together when they play.

It has been A LOT to hot to be there here lately; we were going right after the boys woke up a few days but then it was even too hot then.  Maybe it's me & they really don't feel the heat but they sure look hot with their cheeks all red & hair soaked with sweat.  We will have to get back there very soon since they love it so much!!

Boy Will Be Boys.........

Who started this statement & what does it really mean?  I grew up with a sister so having a little boy means learning along with him what goes into being a boy.  So far I have figured out that being a boy means being a daredevil 24/7 & having no fear about doing anything & everything.

Brayden has always been adventurous & done things that I thought of as little boy things but here lately he is shocking me with just what he wants to do & try.

For Example:
He has decided that he wants to & will climb on the outer park of our stairwell; he used to just climb up & down on the 1st step edge (& I was always afraid that h was going to fall & bust his lip, face & head open then) but now he thinks that he is big enough & strong enough to go up all 5 of them..........by the way there is NO WAY to child proof this portion of the stairs so I just have to keep telling him "no, no" & saying "that will hurt Brayden".  He of course doesn't care & fights me tooth & nail to continue to do it over & over again but I just keep praying that as he is learning that doing this is a "no-no" that he doesn't get hurt really bad.

I know that girls can be & some are adventurous as well but there is something about what & how Brayden plays that makes me realize that there really is a difference in how boys & girls do things.  I guess "boys will be boys" but does that really have to mean that boys will give their mother's heart attacks on a daily basis??

So Colorful........

I have been working with our little guy on his coloring & flash card skills on a daily basis here lately & have a question.........how do I stop a 16 month old little boy from eating the darn crayons??

He will start off just fine & color very well........

And then it happens; I go to take a sip of my pumpkin spice decaf coffee & there it goes, straight into his mouth!  He bits the tips off the crayons almost every time!!

And chews & swallows; I know that they are non-toxic but still.

I have tried putting him in toddler jail but it doesn't work so I am asking you guys for some advise.
(I was just kidding about toddler jail; he was just watching the TV on the stairs in that photo)

I know that the small amount of the crayon that he is eating won't hurt him & he will soon poop it all out (it is going to be one colorful poop) but any suggestions that you might have to stopping this would be wonderful.
