Spring Has Sprung........

Although this past Saturday it was more like summer than spring.  We spent a wonderful Saturday morning outside enjoying the beautiful weather & then the warmer afternoon watching B's cousins play baseball.  He has such an great time with them & always loves to watch them play which ever sport it is that they are doing at that time.  I decided to do a little experimenting this wonderful day just to see how B would handle napping in the car; I feel like I am tied to his nap schedule sometimes & would love for both he & I to go do more things every once & awhile.  My child needs nap time for sure so if he didn't so so well napping in his stroller on Friday I would never have attempted taking him to the game on Saturday.

I had it all planned out to let him play hard that morning so that he would be tired & want to sleep in the car.  The best place for him to play these days is outside so that is where we spent the morning........

My plan seemed to be working & he seemed to have worn himself out (& me too) so we ate lunch, packed up the car & we were off!! 

The drive was about an hour but I gave myself 2 hours in the car since he normally takes a 2 hours nap & I wanted him to get as much sleep as he possible could.  He ended up only napping about 45 minutes but he was a trooper that afternoon & enjoyed every single second of being at the game; especially since there was a park right behind the bleachers!!

He made a friend right away............

I chased him around the entire time with juice & snacks because it was HOT outside & I could tell that the heat was getting to him.  His little cheeks were so red & I just knew he was getting too hot so I would try to have him sit down in the shade & have a drink of something cold but he would only sit for a second & then he was off again.

I finally just scooped him up & took him to the car for some A/C, cold juice & cold snack refreshing time & he was very happy to be there.........it helps that JuJu had Toy Story 2 in her car!  B's JuJu finished watching the boys game & then came & scooped B away for the evening.  She was so sweet to keep him so that I could rest a bit after my horrible week.

I know that I posted about my accident here, but on top of that wonderful Monday event I broke my pinkie toe so have been limping around in pain since, & I also slipped walking up the stairs & popped myself in the nose with a bottle of water leaving me with a nice BIG swollen nose.  Needless to say I had a very hard week & little things just kept happening that elevated my frustration not to mention I kept hitting my toe on everything so I don't think it is ever going to get better!!  Oh yeah & this past Sunday Lance & I were walking through Walmart picking up a few things before meeting JuJu, PaPa & Brayden at the mall & I slipped & fell on my knee!!  Leave it to me to find the one wet spot in the whole big damn store to slip on & again re-injure my toe so that now the whole right side of my right foot is bruised & swollen............I was so ready for yesterday & just pray that this week is better than the last!!

All in all Saturday was a great time for Brayden & he did very well even though he only slept for such a short period of time; I don't think that we will do things hat interrupt nap time that often but it is nice to know that he can handle it every once & a while.

What a Weekend.......

We couldn't have asked for better weather for March this past weekend; I mean it was gorgeous!  It made for a fun outdoors weekend & after a rough start on Friday night the weekend turned out perfect as well.

I am not going to get into the details of our Friday night but lets just say that I only slept about an hour & granted I have not been sleeping well for a while now this sleepless night was caused by other things & not pregnancy so Saturday was very rough for this momma!  B woke up in a beyond FANTASTIC mood & we were off & running for a fun & busy day.  I was exhausted but didn't want that to effect B's day so I decided that we needed to keep moving & enjoy every moment of the 70 degree weather that God blessed us with!  That morning we ran a few errands & then went to the little park in the front of our neighborhood & I was shocked at how much B did all on his own.  He was climbing & playing like such a big boy & even though I was worried the whole time that he was going to hurt himself or fall he didn't & he seemed so proud of himself!

But of course LOVED the regular swing..........

We got home from the park, ate lunch & he was down for the count right after & I got to work on cleaning our messy downstairs.  We had some work done in our kitchen on Thursday & needless to say it made our whole downstairs a very big & dusty mess afterwards (I will post about our latest home improvements & Colton's nursery once I get photos taken).  After a good nap we were back outside for more fun in the sun; we took so many walks up & down our street that afternoon.  B would go to his Radio Flyer & say more & then go over to his tricycle & say more as well so up & down the street we went over & over & over again.

We of course had to spend time in the back yard as well; I am so surprised that just enjoys walking/running around the backyard like he does but he & the dogs just run & play for what seems like hours sometimes.

(if you notice B's left hand he has a glove on it; h found it in his wagon & wore it for the rest of the afternoon & than again yesterday.........it was quite funny)

Saturday night came & went & after B went down at 8:30 I followed right behind him; I think I was asleep before my head even hit the pillow!!  I think because I was so tired from the night before that I slept alright but woke up at what I thought was 3am (which has been the norm lately) so I got up & started doing stuff downstairs & then when I came back upstairs to get on the computer I realized that it was really only 2am because of the time change.............Lance had already fixed our clocks so needless to say I was up & yesterday was a very long day again but it was beautiful outside so it was another great day!!

Lance golfed yesterday morning & B & I spent the morning outside walking & playing with JuJu & then once daddy got home B helped him give the pups a bath.......he loves to help his daddy out with anything & everything!!

We ran some more errands & went to B's favorite store; Toys R Us; & then we were off to dinner to meet B's PaPa, Uncle J, & Uncle J's new girlfriend.  We ate Japanese Hibachi & I was swollen before we even left the restaurant!!

We spent the rest of the evening playing outside & enjoying the weather for as long as we could; it is crazy how long the sun is up from just an hour change but it it going to make for some great nights this spring/summer!!  We got cleaned up & settled in for a little family movie night.  The movie of B's choice these days is Toy Story (1, 2 or 3 will do) so we all got our drinks, blankets & snacks & just sat back & relaxed!!

We got this chair for B last weekend & he loves it but he wants it up on the sofa with us & not on the floor & how can we to say no to that cute little face??

Goodson House of Sickness.........

We have had one hell of a weekend & beginning of this week in the Goodson household & I am ready for this week to end already & it just began!!

Thursday started off as normal as could be; B woke up in an unbelievably wonderful mood & ran around says "hey" & "hi" to the dogs, daddy & myself all morning & until it was time for daycare.  He went in like a big boy & all was good UNTIL I got the call at about 10:45am; he had thrown up all over the place.  They said that he seemed fine & had no fever so he could stay but really.........leave my kid at daycare after that NO WAY, the house & all the errands I had to run were going to have to wait & off I went on the 5 second drive to get him & like they said he was fine but oh so happy to see mommy.  We packed him up & home we went; he didn't eat much & went down for a rather long nap but again he woke up fine & never got sick again.  I am going to chalk it up to teething & drainage upsetting his poor little belly to the point of making him sick; he does have his 18 month check up this Friday so I of course let them know about it but mommy intuition tells me that it was one of "those days".

We took it easy the rest of the day & just played around the house for the rest of the afternoon & then made plans to head out for a visit with PaPa & JuJu for lunch on Friday & although we had a great time & a wonderful lunch I now wish that we would have just stayed home........I ate something bad & at about 11:30 Friday evening I was up & in the bathroom & didn't get out until Saturday late afternoon..........it was the longest most horrible day I have had in quite a long time!!  Thankfully Lance took Brayden to his JuJu's Friday morning for a day & night of fun because there is no way in hell I was going to be able to run after the ever curious little guy that day!!

B got to go watch his cousin play basketball, play at the park & enjoy the 60 degree GA weather & then spend the night at JuJu & PaPa's so I know that he had fun but when Lance took him over there Saturday morning I cried.........a lot & missed him so much.  I spent Saturday in bed or in the bathroom until about 5 that evening & then finally ran a bath & soaked for a while to try & get my body to stop aching; being pregnant & sick is not fun at all; not to mention the worry I felt about baby Colton the whole day.  I was of course on the phone with my OB first thing that morning & of course there was no reason to worry but I guess that is just what mommas do!

Lance got home from work that night with gifts of Smart Water & flowers & we sat up a talked for about an hour before I was off to bed only to wake up Sunday feeling very weak, having a larger than life headache & just feeling overall yucky so needless to say we missed out on a planned family birthday party.  I was pretty bummed that we missed the party because we don't get to see them very often & I just knew that Brayden would have had a blast & Sunday turned out to be a day from hell!!

We are selling our boat since we have another little guy on the way & won't be using it very much in the next few years & if you have ever owned or known someone who owns a boat it is always an adventure when you try to do anything with it.  All Lance wanted to do was get it cleaned before the people looked at it & that turned into the purchase of a new battery, flat tires on the trailer that needed valve stems replaced (& no one was open early on a Sunday) & then once they got replaced on his way back up to meet the people a tire blew out & we had to get brand new tire for the darn thing so needless to say it was a very long day Sunday as well.  Fingers crossed that we hear back from the people & they will take the boat off our hands; it is bitter sweet to see it go since we have had so many great times on it but it is one expense that we don't need at this point in time.

Sunday came to an end early for all three of us; Brayden is teething & having a rough time of it so he was even trying to climb into bed all by himself at & so Lance & I followed very soon after he was out.   Monday arrived & I still had my headache but I was bound & determined to have a great day with little man.........that didn't happen at all though.  He is just having such a hard time with his teeth this time & I can see that he wants to be in a good mood but his teeth are just getting the best of him & I hate that I can't do a thing for him.   We made the most out of a yuck day & worked on some Valentine's Day arts & crafts & then he was off to bed about 7:30 that night; I still had/have my headache so I crawled in bed to watch TV & wait for Lance to get home only for my phone to ring & for Lance to tell me that he felt sick & thought that he was going to throw up.........5 minutes later he called back & said that he had thrown up & was trying to get home before doing so again.  He spend most of last night in the bathroom & is thankfully resting now & will be for the rest of the day.

I am not sure why or what is going on in this household but one thing is for sure; once I take B to daycare & have Lance tucked into bed for the day I am cleaning & disinfecting this whole entire house...headache or no headache I will get the germs out of this house today!!  The Lysol smell might take over our whole neighborhood but we will have no more yuck germs here; PLEASE & THANK YOU!!!

Mommy's Little Helper.........

This past weekend was a very busy one but a very good one. Brayden had his first ever birthday party to attend on Saturday & he had a blast!! Before we went over to the party I needed to water the new trees & plants that we put in about a week ago & I couldn't have asked for a better little helper!!  Brayden loved playing in the pitcher of water & once it was empty he would take it back over to be filled up again; I am so happy that he likes to help outside because when he gets old enough that will be one of his chores.........but then I am sure he will hate it!!

Our next door neighbor's little girl turned 2 & Brayden had a great time helping her celebrate; they did a bouncy thing like we had a Brayden's party HOWEVER Brayden actually got in this one & loved every minute of it!!

But thankfully JuJu was there to help him up so I could catch him at the bottom........

All Jumped Out............ 

After the party B went to spend the night with JuJu & PaPa so Lance & I could go on a date; it was so nice to enjoy dinner just hubby & I BUT we missed our little guy so very much!!!  I woke up to look at the monitor a billion times that night & got sad when I couldn't see him in it; he had a blast though & I am sure didn't even miss us.  Sunday we ran a bunch of errands & got so much accomplished & then we were off to meet B, JuJu, PaPa, & a bunch of other family for lunch.  The day was so much fun & filled with family but it was nice when Sunday night rolled around & I could finally sit for a second!!

Hello Weekend........

I am so happy that it is Friday & that I get to spend the next 2 days with my little man!!  Lance gets off work at 5 tonight so we will get a nice family night but then tomorrow it will just be B & I & I am so excited about that!!  Sunday we have family photos & I am kind of excited about the photos but not really because I have just started to get a cold of some sort (caught it from B) & just hope that both he & I are feeling & looking good for the photos.  I already hate photos of myself so sick photos would really suck!!

Oh yeah & I don't know if I had mentioned the fact that we are redoing B's nursery & we just bought his new bedding last night & I washed it in B's wonderful Dreft detergent (I love the smell of that stuff) so we will start getting his room re-do tonight!!  It won't be completed for a while but I will post pictures if anyone wants to see them.  We have actually set an August 7th date to have our house completely decorated & finished since that is his 1st birthday & there will be a FEW (note my sarcasm) people there!!

I Am Ready for the Weekend!!

This week has seemed so long & I am so ready for the weekend; especially because we are going to be making our 1st trip of the summer up to Lake Lanier on Sunday.  With me being pregnant last summer we didn't really get up to the lake that often so I am really looking forward to it not to mention I can't wait to take B up there for some fun in the sun!!  We won't be taking him this Sunday because there will be a lot of cleaning going on but he will be up there soon enough!!

The theme for Brayden's 1st birthday has been decided & if you saw his nursery you will not be shocked.......it is going to be a Georgia Bulldog Event!!  Lance & I went back & forth about using this as the theme because I didn't want it to just be Bulldog faces & Georgia G's all over the place so we have come to the agreement that his party is going to be a UGA/Bulldog themed party with momma's touch to it.  So the first thing on the list is the invite because it is our son's 1st birthday party & I want it to be as original as possible, special, fun & kid cute so no already printed & over used invites are going to do!!  They will be in the works right after I get B's picture taken & then after they are designed the other planning will begin & I can't wait!!

Ready for the Weekend....

I am so ready for this weekend....Lance has the whole weekend off (even today) & we have so much to do but it is all in preparation for Brayden's arrival so it will all be done with smiles on our faces....I HOPE! We have our shower tomorrow & PLUS we are getting our maternity photos done & I have been waiting to get these done for ever.......I know that Lance will look awesome in them but I just hope that I don't look to horrible in them, I am not photogenic at all!! I am excited to get started on the weekend "TO DO" list & that is going to make this work day SOOOO LONG!!
