The Holcomb Family Visit - Part One

I am sorry to have to do this but I have so many photos that I want to post that go along with my family's visit that I am going to break it up in pieces so that I don't overload each post!

I have blogged about it before but just in case you missed it; my parents have sold their house & will be moving to New Mexico in the very beginning of December.  New Mexico is where my dad was born & raised & he has always dreamed about moving back home so now that both my mom & dad are retired they are making the journey & my sister is going as well.  I am so very sad that they are going to be even further away but so happy that my dad gets to be home again & near his mom & brother & really happy that my grandmother will get Christmas with her son since she hasn't in; I think; around 25 years!!

Because of the move they came down for an early Thanksgiving/Christmas celebration & we had a ball!!  They got here on Saturday the 20th & Brayden was so happy to see them & their pups; he took them out back to show them the hill he loves to run up & down & also the mess that is back there from the patio getting it's roof (it is STILL not finished I might add).  We had a blast playing out there for quite a while; we just relaxed the rest of the evening & Lance stopped on his way home to get yummy cheese dip, chips, salsa, & rice from our favorite Mexican restaurant & we enjoyed chicken & beef tacos/burritos for dinner..........it was delicious & we all went to bed just to get up the next morning for an early Christmas & early Thanksgiving dinner!!!

Their Miniature Pincher's are much smaller than our dogs & Brayden really enjoyed loving on them even though they really didn't like it! 

He will run up & down this hill all day every day if you let him!!

Puddy brought Brayden a very special ball cap from New Mexico & even showed him how NOT to wear it. 

This is also the night the Brayden decided to poop in the tub not once but TWICE.  I cleaned out the tub & got fresh water in it for him to only do it again; it was quite gross but what can you do right??  I guess when you gotta go; you gotta go!!

17 Weeks

Baby's now the size of an onion!

Baby's skeleton is hardening, changing from rubbery cartilage to bone, and fat is finally accumulating around it. His umbilical cord is getting thicker and stronger, and those little fingers and toes now feature one-of-a-kind prints.  Your baby weighs 5 ounces now and he's around 5 inches long from head to bottom. He can move his joints, and his sweat glands are starting to develop.

Total weight gain: 8.5 lbs.
Morning Sickness: nope
Cravings: Mexican food & sweets
Sleep: more please; thank you........
I can't live without: Water
I miss: being comfortable in clothes; I am at the point where my normal pants need a belly band/B-buckle & that really isn't comfortable & maternity pants are of course still too big.
I am looking forward to: decorating the nursery
Milestones: finding out that we are for sure having another little boy
Exercise: Walking & prenatal Pilate's
Diet: See it & Eat it........the holidays are tough on this pregnant woman
Movement: I am feeling him move more & more

Happy Thanksgiving........

I hope that everyone has a wonderful & safe Thanksgiving; I am praying that I have a bit of self control & don't eat too much yummy, yet fattening food but I am not making any promises.  I have so much to be thankful for this year & thankfully feel like the luckiest woman everyday not just today.  I have a wonderful & loving husband, 2 wonderfully amazing sons, 2 crazy yet adorable pups that we couldn't live without & Lance & I both have the luxury of having phenomenal families that are always there for us & love us all so very much.............not to sound like Tiny Tim or anything but God Bless Us; Everyone!!

Oh yeah; be careful out there is you choose to hit the stores today; I know that I will be one of the crazy women out there later & just want to have a good time shopping NOT have be surrounded by rude & grumpy people............if you are going to be rude then please STAY HOME!!

Wordless Wednesday........

We had our appointment yesterday at Stork Vision & we could not have been happier with the pictures & video that they were able to capture of our little BOY!!!  I wish we would have gone to do this with Brayden as well..........it was AMAZING!!! 

So without any further adieu............

I have so much to catch up on since my family was here over the weekend to celebrate Thanksgiving & Christmas..........B pooped in the tub, was spoiled with lots of wonderful Christmas presents from Grams, Puddy, & Auny Mammie, had his 1st Thanksgiving dinner, played lots, went to the park, puked all over himself & his crib, slept like a champ (for one night) & did so much more!!!

Fall Weather & Leaves......

We are having a roof built over our back patio so that we will actually have some shade in our back yard next summer; we did this at our other house when I was pregnant with B.........hated all of the mess & noise then & am hating it now too plus it is effecting Brayden's napping schedule!!  Since it has been a bit noisy here at the Goodson household for the past 2 weeks this past Thursday B & I took a trip over to JuJu's & PaPa's house so that little man could maybe get a good nap in.  He loves to go visit his JuJu & PaPa & loves the fact that they have such a long drive way/front yard with lots of trees which means LOTS of falling leaves & not to mention the fact of the creek that he has to spit in at least 10 times everytime he is there.  He has a great time & it is so much fun to watch him play since we don't have a view like they do!!

16 Weeks

Baby's now the size of an avocado!
Watch what you say...tiny bones forming in baby's ears mean she can now pick up your voice. A few more minuscule changes: Eyebrows, lashes, and hair are starting to fill in, and taste buds are forming.  He is about 4 1/2 inches long (head to rump) and 3 1/2 ounces. His legs are much more developed, his head is more erect than it has been, and his eyes have moved closer to the front of his head. His ears are close to their final position, too. The patterning of his scalp has begun, though his locks aren't recognizable yet. He's even started growing toe nails. And there's a lot happening inside as well. For example, his heart is now pumping about 25 quarts of blood each day, and this amount will continue to increase as your baby continues to develop.

Movement: Yes,  I started to feel him moving this week & I can't believe that I forgot how wonderful it felt!
Gender: Boy?? (we find out 100% next Tuesday)

Santa Claus is Coming to Town...........

That's right he already made his stop at Brayden's daycare today & I am just crossing my fingers that he was in a good mood (he was up at 5am) & not afraid of him.  Last year he was so young he didn't know & wasn't effected by the jolly white bearded guy but we'll just have to wait & see how things went when the photos arrive...........thankfully we can get our money back if the photos stink.  I actually think I will keep whatever comes just because & then if it is really bad then I will try again at the mall!!

This is what he wore this morning; I couldn't get him to get off the toy to get a good photo but my baby boy looks like such a big boy in this outfit.  I was in tears about the whole darn situation!!

Mommy's Little Helper.........

This past weekend was a very busy one but a very good one. Brayden had his first ever birthday party to attend on Saturday & he had a blast!! Before we went over to the party I needed to water the new trees & plants that we put in about a week ago & I couldn't have asked for a better little helper!!  Brayden loved playing in the pitcher of water & once it was empty he would take it back over to be filled up again; I am so happy that he likes to help outside because when he gets old enough that will be one of his chores.........but then I am sure he will hate it!!

Our next door neighbor's little girl turned 2 & Brayden had a great time helping her celebrate; they did a bouncy thing like we had a Brayden's party HOWEVER Brayden actually got in this one & loved every minute of it!!

He tried to climb up to the slide all by himself.......... 

But thankfully JuJu was there to help him up so I could catch him at the bottom........

All Jumped Out............ 

After the party B went to spend the night with JuJu & PaPa so Lance & I could go on a date; it was so nice to enjoy dinner just hubby & I BUT we missed our little guy so very much!!!  I woke up to look at the monitor a billion times that night & got sad when I couldn't see him in it; he had a blast though & I am sure didn't even miss us.  Sunday we ran a bunch of errands & got so much accomplished & then we were off to meet B, JuJu, PaPa, & a bunch of other family for lunch.  The day was so much fun & filled with family but it was nice when Sunday night rolled around & I could finally sit for a second!!
