Wonderful Park Weather

I feel like I have haven't posted anything about what we have been up to around here in so long that I don't even know where to begin.  I feel like we have been so busy but also feel like not much has really been going on; does that even make sense?  Mainly we have been enjoying the amazing weather & preparing for Colton's arrival (which for Lance & I means getting a crazy amount of things done & taken care of around the house & I will post on that separately).

I don't know if I have talked about this yet but Lance switched jobs & it now at a dealership closer to home; the hours are longer than they were before but it is a better fit for him & since he is only 5 minutes away from work we see him almost everyday for lunch.  It is was a hard decision for he & I to make but we made the right choice for our family & that is what is most important.  With that being said; I will again say the hours are really long & that means B & I get most of our days (& nights) together just he & I so we have been enjoying the beautiful weather & getting outside as much as possible.

We have been to the park a good bit these past few weeks; our little boy is defiantly all boy all the time & enjoys climbing, running, jumping & whatever else he can do outside & I LOVE to watch him play.  He is getting more & more daring with each visit to the park & attempts to do more & more all by his little self........which is kind of scary.  He is so independent & wants to do it all on his own all of the time but doesn't seem to understand that he is still little & needs help sometimes.

He walked over to the big section of the playground & climbed p to this big slide like it was nothing; thankfully he let me slide down with him since there was no one at the bottom to catch him.

I love that I get so much time with B & am cherishing every single moment of it since soon there will be 2 little boys in my life that need me & my time will be split.  Lance & I have talked about the fact that B & I will be able to get to the park less since packing up 2 little ones is so much harder than just one toddler so we are looking at a play ground type thing for our backyard in the next few weeks.  We are hoping to get one picked out & here to the house before Colton arrives so that Lance & my dad can get it put together.  We think that B will love it & that it will help with the transition a tad bit too but picking one out is becoming quite a chore.  We don't want to pick one out that is too big but we also don't want to get one that B will out grow next year since they are quite pricey.............decisions, decisions, decisions!  I'll make sure you see which one we chose when we finally make our decision.

Superbowl Sunday.........

I was so happy when I checked the weather forecast for Sunday because it said that it was finally going to be nice enough to take B to the park that afternoon.  It has either been too cold or raining for what seems like ever that I think I just wanted to get out & play in the nice weather myself.

Lance had some errands & things to take care of that morning so B & I spent the morning in our pj's (which I always enjoy) & then we had plans to go to the park, dinner with JuJu & PaPa & then to a friends house to watch Superbowl.

The park was amazing & B hadn't been in so long that he played forever; I think we were there for almost 2 hours just running around.

He loved this little car.

& we ran into a little boy from his daycare class.

The slide is always a big hit............

He carried this balloon around almost the whole entire time we were there.  He got it the Friday before & it was in my car still & when he say it & said "ba-oon" I of course gave it to him thinking he would just play with it for a second but I was of course wrong.

He loved daddy bouncing him on the bridge.............

& played with a little girl on the see-saw..........

then back to the bridge.............

When we finally left we thought that it would be a good time to go eat since he had played so hard & he might actually sit, color & eat for a little while..........we were wrong he seemed to actually have more energy than normal.

I really had no interest in the Superbowl this year since my Giants didn't make it, Lance's Colt's didn't make it, my dad's Bears didn't even make it (but they got further than we did) & the Falcon's didn't even make it.  I was as always looking forward to the commericals & half time show but the game I could have cared less about.  It was nice to see our friends Meg's & Justin; they are due February 26th & we are so excited to meet little Jones!!

We of course couldn't stay to long because little guy had such a big day that he was ready for bath & bed around 7:30 so we headed home then.  We got to spend a few hours with our friends & they will of course understand a little one ruling the roost in only a few weeks time.

We of course took B's DVD player so that he would be entertained for as long as possible with the Imagination Movers.

They have 2 Boston Terrier's; Rudy & Sooie & B LOVED them.

It was a great way to end the weekend & get ready for another busy week.  Hope you all had a great weekend & congrats to any Green Bay fans out there on the win.

The Holcomb Family Visit - Part Three.........Good-Bye's Stink!!

-BMonday Lance was back to work so we just chilled at the house that morning & played with all Brayden's new toys!!  He actually slept in that morning & didn't gt up until 8:30.........that is unheard of for him!!

After nap time we ventured out to the park that afternoon. I tried to get on the slides & swing with Brayden was Colton kept me from doing to much; every time I would try something I would get very dizzy so Puddy had to step in & play a lot BUT I don't think he minded at all!! I actually think that it would be a tie between Brayden & his Puddy on how had more fun!!

Our kid is a dare devil; he really has no fear; he walked up to this part of the park & started to take a step without holding Puddy's hands..........sadly I think we might have many bumps. bruises & maybe even a few broken bones in our future.

When we got home we ate turkey leftovers (& they get better with time) & then just waited for Lance to get home.  My mom & dad then gave Brayden the best present as far as I am concerned..........a recordable book.  He will now be able to listen to both of their voices read him "The Night Before Christmas" any time he wants to & believe me it is pretty often since they left!!  It makes me cry when he grabs the book & I hear them reading but it is a happy cry so I guess that is not such a bad thing.

Tuesday morning came & we all got up & got ready to go see this...........

I was so happy that my parents, sister, Lance's mom, Lance & Brayden could all be there to see Colton; it made the whole experience so much more meaningful than it already was!!  When we got back home mom & dad packed up & were on the road; B had lunch & then fought his nap with a passion that afternoon.  I later figured out that he had a very upset stomach; I only figured this out because when I went into get my screaming child he was covered in vomit!!  It was everywhere & his whole crib & he had to be cleaned & washed..........it was such a sad sight & I hope I don't have to see him like that again anytime soon!!

It was a wonderful family visit BUT it was way to short; it was a very sad good-bye that afternoon & we miss them so much already.  I know that my family didn't live really close to begin with but 8 hours is a lot different than 26 hours; I am so happy that they will be with my Grandmother & can't wait to visit & show Brayden where his Puddy grew up!!  I wish I could just be selfish & have them move here but I guess life just doesn'y always get to go my way..........DAMN IT!!
