Cloth Diapering Advise.........

OK ladies I need some advise on this subject!!  I wanted to do it with B but just never got around to looking into everything so now that we are expecting again I am & will be using cloth diapers on Colton!!  I of course am going to do my own research but would love to hear what you use on your little ones; in my opinion another mother's advise is sometimes the best research.

  1. We have used the Bum Genius All In Ones (AOIs) since Roscoe was about two months old. They fit babies 8 or 10 pounds to 35 pounds. We are STILL using the same 24 that we bought initially and they are in great shape. I fully intend to buy another set of twelve and rotate them in for baby 2. I really wanted to cloth diaper from the start this time so I also bought a few of each of the following: Kissaluvs (with prowrap covers), bum genius size small (or maybe xs?), and Rumparooz's Little Joeys. I have no experience with these yet, but they were purchased on recommendations from others that I know.

Good luck! Cloth diapering is fun! :)

  2. I wish I could offer advice on the cloth diapering, but we always did disposable diapers (pampers).

  3. I use BumGenius all-in-ones. We have the 3.0 (velcro closure tabs with snap size adjusters), but they've since come out with 4.0 (snap closure as well as size adjusters). They're great because they fit from newborn until they're potty trained instead of having to buy a supply of various sizes of diapers that they grow into/out of as they grow. Rarely leaks (and when it is, its because I've given Sam a LOT to drink and/or haven't changed him soon enough). Easy to wash and prep for the next wearing. Can't say enough about how glad we are we have them instead of paying for disposables.

Some people prefer pre-folds that you change within a cover (baby can typically wear cover all day or most of a day)...I definitely see the upside in that kind (and our hospital used those before we went home after Sam was born), but I like how easy ours is since it is already put together and just goes on as easily as a disposable.

Good luck on your search. Try nickisdiapers.com. It was a store in Madison, WI when I lived there but is a nationally-known cloth-diaper online store. They even do a 15-day trial, so if you don't like the kind, you can send them back to try a different kind or just send them back. And they're super helpful if you call with questions or check out their website info and blog too.

  4. I agree with the ladies above, I would have to say that the BumGenius are amazing. I have tons of different all-in-ones and I think they are the most convenient and the ones I trust the most if we are going out and through the night. Add DiaperShops on Facebook, they are always running deals, like if you spend $35 get a free cloth diaper. I did that all throughout my pregnancy and got tons of free diapers!

  7. We BumGenius Organic All-in-Ones. They are amazing! Diapershops.com is always having good sales and deals, like where you get free cloth diapers! I am so glad we started using cloth, I wouldn't ever go back! It's kind of confusing at first because there are sooooo many options out there, but the all-in-ones seem to be the most Daddy friendly too! Let me know if you have any more questions! I'd be happy to share more advice :)
